PARKROYAL Hotel looking to redevelop and expand

The PARKROYAL Hotel is located on the edge of Sydney’s Darling Harbour precinct. Constructed in the early 1990s, the hotel accommodates 336 hotel keys (rooms). The owners and operators of the hotel are progressing a planning proposal to enable the redevelopment and expansion of the hotel.

What We Did

Atlas was engaged by the owner of the site to prepare an Economic Impact Assessment which assessed the potential market need for additional hotel accommodation in the Sydney CBD and estimated the economic impacts of the Proposal. The study ultimately formed part of a planning proposal package.

The Outcome

A rezoning proposal for the development was lodged in late-2025 and was unanimously supported by the City of Sydney in August 2026 to proceed to the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure for finalisation.
